To be eligible for this award, the applicant must:

  • be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident of Australia
  • be 18 years of age or over
  • have served at least one day, full-time service in the Australian Defence Force
  • be employed by an organisation for a minimum of two years on the closing date of nominations, and
  • have their nomination endorsed by the employing organisation.

 

Nomination Criteria

1. Achievements within the organisation, including how the nominee’s ADF skills are applied by the individual, and valued by the organisation.

These are intended as a guide only.

Nominations will be strengthened by providing examples such as how the veteran:

  • introduced innovative or better ways to do business
  • displays high levels of flexibility, resilience or problem solving, management or client service
  • positively impacts organisational culture or outcomes
  • meets or exceeds targets/outcomes
  • mentors and/or contributes to improved veteran community employment practice within the organisation.

2. Supporting evidence of their contribution from the nominee’s supervisor, management or Board.

These are intended as a guide only.

Examples of supporting evidence could include: 

  • feedback received about the veteran
  • recognition of contribution or commendation by the organisation’s Board or senior management
  • nomination or receipt of recognition or any organisational award.
