Serco is a multi-disciplinary program management and services company, providing critical support to Defence Forces globally. In Australia, it employs over 550 veterans and 180 Reservists, making up just under 5% of the total workforce.
Veterans are found throughout Serco, including in senior and middle management roles.
Through the HR team and the Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, Serco has committed to expanding the number of veterans it employs. Within this, Serco has a referral program which encourages current staff to tap into their networks to find suitable staff, which is invaluable when finding employees with highly specialised skills.
As per their Diversity and Inclusion Policy, Serco provides staff with access to flexible working arrangements as well additional paid and unpaid leave for those continuing to serve in a reservist capacity.
Its commitment to the Defence community also includes the development of a support framework for the partners of current serving members with access to additional leave and flexible work arrangements.
