Gateway Motorway Services (GMS) provides traffic incident management services for over 300,000 vehicles per day along the Gateway Motorway and Logan Motorway in Brisbane. From providing first aid, fighting small compartmental fires to simply refuelling broken down vehicles, GMS offers supportive first contact for motorists that are involved in serious traffic incidents.
Veteran staff are involved in the recruitment and selection process of new staff with direct ADF experience. They have firsthand knowledge of the skills and attributes that veterans bring to the table. GMS actively seeks veteran employees with the skills and attributes of command, control, cordon and contain and critical incident management. GMS also acts as a career conduit for veterans wishing to explore a career in emergency services.
GMS provides a platform to transition to a civilian workforce in a confident and competent manner, providing upskilling for staff to seek other opportunities if and when they arise even in other industries. GMS is happy to maintain a legacy and reputation for providing veterans with that first step and spring boarding their learning and development journey.
