Emergency Australia is a registered training organisation and provider of private medical support, specialising in emergency training and tailored medical support for high risk environments. Its success rests primarily on its core principles of Integrity, Loyalty, Mateship, Initiative and Professionalism and providing meaningful employment to veterans, who in turn provide unique education and medical services to the community.
Emergency Australia’s veteran recruitment strategy commenced in 2014 at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst. By using existing social networks and the local army reserve base, the company created a community where veterans could gain clinical exposure and experience, providing necessary skills for employment with the state ambulance service or as first aid trainers.
60% of Emergency Australia’s workforce are veterans who are encouraged to participate in the company’s mentoring program, be proud of their service, attend commemorative events and maintain relationships with the defence community.
