Angie Weeks has studied and owned businesses across several disciplines including education, real estate, horticulture, built environment, and dog behaviour and training for special interest assistance dogs. She identifies strongly with social responsibility and believes that both individuals and corporations are accountable for making the world a better place—and that what starts with our personal actions as an individual must benefit the whole of society.

Angie and her co-founder Roger Weeks established PTSD Dogs Australia as a non-profit organisation that trains and provides service dogs for veterans and first responders suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Over the years, Angie has trained and placed 26 service dogs with veterans and first responders suffering from PTSD.

Their unwavering commitment to helping those who have served their country has earned them numerous accolades and recognition for their outstanding contribution. They have seen firsthand the transformative effects that the dogs have had on their clients, reducing anxiety and depression and improving their overall quality of life. They have also witnessed the positive impact that the dogs have had on their families, helping them to reconnect and improve their relationships.

With a deep understanding of veteran and first responder trauma, the complex symptoms of PTSD, and the significant difference between training therapy dogs and service dogs, Angie and Roger combine their knowledge and skillsets to rescue dogs and train them for the health, wellbeing and reintegration of veterans and first responders in Australia.
