After joining Pacific Aerospace Consulting (PAC) in 2018, Alex quickly progressed from a technician to a senior management position, leading 15 personnel. His team provide engineering and technical support to the Australian Defence Force's Tactical Data Link networks.
Alex successfully created direct career pathways for veterans to join PAC, with his contributions comprising 35% of the company's total employee intake in 2020. Having first-hand experience of the challenges of transitioning into civilian life, Alex provides new veteran employees with one-on-one mentoring and guidance as they settle into their new roles. One of his Australian Defence Force veteran teammates said, "His valuable advice was amazing, and greatly aiding in my ultimate decision and smooth transition to the civilian world. Alex continues to stand out from the crowd and was an inspiration to me and others who felt it is the right time to transition to civilian life". - Damien Kubik, InfoSec Specialist, RAAF Veteran
Alex’s knowledge of system integration developed during his time in the RAAF and as a technician with PAC, is unsurpassed. His ADF experience also provided him with a unique perspective of how an empowered team performs, an experience that he has brought to PAC and embodies in his leadership style. When speaking of his leadership experience thus far, Alex said, “I’m immensely proud to have grown our Williamtown office, which is 73% veterans. It’s given our team the opportunity to stay local with family while continuing to contribute to Defence and Defence Industry in a meaningful way. Even more than delivering operational capability to Defence, this is my proudest accomplishment at PAC.”
Alex's profound passion for service spans beyond PAC's portfolio. Since leaving the ADF, in addition to leading a multidisciplinary team, he continues to serve as an active reservist and Captain for the Clarence Town Rural Fire Service and is one of only a handful of emergency first responders in his town.
Lacee Essex, Chief Executive Officer for PAC Australia, said "Alex's service helped to create a well-rounded, empathetic leader who consistently places the needs of the ADF and his own team ahead of himself".
Alex's service in the Australian Defence Force, and now a volunteer firefighter and emergency first responder, exemplifies his commitment to helping the Australian community.
