The Veteran Employment Program (VEP or Program) demonstrates the importance the Government places on the skills, values and experience veterans bring to the civilian workplace.
The VEP improves support for veterans as they move from the ADF to civilian employment, whether they want to work for an organisation or build their own business.
It also helps Australian organisations create work environments to bring out the best in their veteran employees.
The Australian Defence Force (ADF) invests heavily in its servicewomen and men, giving them a wealth of skills and experience that are an asset to any business.
The Program offers a range of initiatives to support veterans moving into the civilian workforce.
- The Prime Minister’s National Veteran Employment Awards recognise organisations that employ and support partners of current or former serving ADF members and veterans in the civilian workforce and veterans and partners making a significant contribution as employees or entrepreneurs. Find out more here.
- The Veteran Employment Commitment gives organisations the opportunity to make a public commitment to support greater employment opportunities for veterans and to recognise the skills, values and experience that veterans bring. Organisations can be recognised at one of three different levels of activity. Apply to be part of the Veteran Employment Commitment here.
- The Veteran Employment Program grants are designed to better support veterans to move into employment or university education.
